JuniorGenius Festival

JuniorGenius is the latest production from Manhattan Theatre Source. We want to give our fabulous brick-box theatre space to New York’s brightest, young acting talent, enabling kids from ages 11-18 to perform, in a mini-festival, at The Source. We will be presenting new work written by 11-18s, as well as improvisations around traditional children’s literature and from the Source's new summer smash, Billy Carver and the Children in Mind, and showcasing the work of existing kids’ theatre camps. There will be no charge to participants, as we want to encourage people that may not always be able to participate in these activities. The Source will provide space, ticketing, house and box office management.

*Performances 11-14 August 7pm

Submissions are now closed for the 2010 Festival; But for next year...What we’re looking for:

• Pre-produced short theatre pieces by or featuring 11-18-year-old writers, actors or directors
• The ideal length is 10 minutes
• Uncomplicated works that are not reliant on technical wizardry, including lavish props, costumes or sets
• Responsible, enthusiastic cast and crew
